Yoga, to Bobby, is a powerful guide toward healthy living for every body.  Bobby discovered yoga living in Ukiah California in 1999, with Mary Pafford. Relocating to Providence in 2002, he received his ERYT-200 from Eyes of the World in 2010.

He was given the name Bhavanam by Don and Amba Stapleton to honor his RYT-500 certification from Nosara Yoga Institute in 2016. 


The Heart Spot in Johnston RI, is a yoga studio Bobby ran from 2012-2017.  His experience there guiding students through a gentle practice, created Heart Spot Yoga. 


Bobby teaches Heart Spot Yoga at Twisted Triangle Yoga, The Woods Yoga and is a frequent sub at All That Matters in Providence.   He continues to study with Maryam Ovissi, Jafar Alexander, Lili Robins, Anne Petrov, Tom Gillette, Erik Strzempko and others, and is always seeking more knowledge.


His classes focus on the balance of breath with body movement to create a sense of profound well being.  R. Bobby is also a theatre artist. 

Heart Spot Yoga is a mellow, noncompetitive, peaceful and revitalizing practice. Expand your awareness of the present moment as you experience Heart Spot Yoga’s relaxing and energizing qualities.   In a typical Heart Spot yoga class you will explore the breath and find joyful movement and awareness. The class moves at a moderate pace to integrate breath with the energy flow of your own body.  Emphasis is on relaxation and stress reduction.  Do you want to strengthen your body, clear your mind and uplift your heart and spirit? Heart Spot yoga is for you!

Heart Spot Yoga is traditional Hatha yoga enhanced by the introduction of Don Stapleton’s Self Awakening Yoga movements.  Classes are noncompetitive, relaxing and revitalizing. 


If you are recovering from an injury, or have limited flexibility and range of motion, you will find Heart Spot Yoga a healing experience.  Modifications for your body issues are always available and supported.
  You don’t have to be flexible to practice yoga.  You work according to your body’s needs.

Heart Spot Yoga classes are moderately paced.  Practice at your own pace, and rest whenever you need.  Take care of yourself at all times.  The more you focus on integrating your breath with body movement, Heart Spot Yoga will bring you mental relaxation, focus and inner peace.
